WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HOLIDAY SURPRISE STORE AND SANTA'S SECRET SHOP OR OTHER HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP PROGRAMS?
Most school holiday shops, like Santa's Secret Shop and Breakfast with Santa, are designed strictly as a fund-raiser. Typically you can't choose your gifts; you have to take pre-made kits.
  1. The Holiday Surprise Store is designed as a fun way for children to shop in their schools for gifts for family members.
  2. You decide your profit goals. You can make up to 40% profit when you use our Suggested Selling Prices.
  3. You can select your gifts in various ways:
    • Use the SUGG ORDER QTY on our Order Form
    • Select just the items you would like to receive by Category or Price
    • Let us create a suggested order for you
    • We have kits available too, if that's what you prefer

  • We offer FREE shipping to you for orders of $1,500 after returns
  • We also offer FREE return shipping for orders over $1,500 after returns when you return less than 10% of your order
  • You will receive UPS return labels with your gift order which you can use for your returns

WHAT ABOUT RETURNS?
Except for closeouts, you may return any gifts that are in unmarred original packaging in our MIN PACK quantities. Pack up your returns in as few boxes as possible, affix the UPS return labels you received with your gift order and either put the returns with your scheduled UPS pickup or call UPS to pick up and return to us. We will send you an invoice which reflects all your credits. Incentives are based in part on shipment of your returns within 10 days of your event, so don't delay!

WHY IS IT BETTER TO PAY FOR SUPPLIES?
We offer themed supplies like table covers, shopping bags, gift bags and more for your holiday store. To help you promote your store, we include 5 free posters to announce your event with your order of $500 or more in gifts. While our competitors say they provide free supplies, the cost of those supplies is added to the price you pay for their gifts. Many of our school customers don't even use the provided supplies. Rather than include supplies you may not want or use, we offer them at a low cost so you get a better value for your gifts and you only get the supplies you need.

WHERE DO I BEGIN?
In case you've never run a holiday store we developed a Chairperson's Handbook How-To Guide which explains how to make your holiday store a success. This 20 page brochure provides information on planning, scheduling, gathering volunteers, promoting, setting up and running your store, along with sample letters, announcements, and notes for your reference. We do not sell this book; we only offer it to our customers with their order of $500 or more in gifts.

HOW MUCH SHOULD WE SELL OUR GIFTS FOR?
Our program is designed to give you a 40% profit. However, you make the final decision on what price you sell at based on the profit percentage you would like to make.

Our Order Forms can be used as a reference to select items, track your sales, or place your orders by fax or email as by Category or by Price.
They are available as a pdf file (set printer to landscape): or as an Excel spreadsheet (totals will automatically calculate): We can also customize the spreadsheet for you if you would like it with a different profit percentage. Just call us and tell us what percentage you would like it to show.

WHAT IF WE DON'T WANT TO MAKE MONEY?
Our suggested selling prices will allow you to make up to 40% profit. If you want to do this just for the fun, simply change the selling prices from our recommendations to make as little or as much profit as you like (see note above re: available Excel spreadsheet too).

HOW DO WE PUT PRICES ON THE GIFTS?
Our price code numbers, shown on our Order Form under “Stkr 40%”, represent our suggested selling price. We offer sheets of pre-printed Price Code Stickers which you can stick on the gifts. The stickers won't mar the appearance of the gift and by using them you will be able to return the gift to us. Our free Checkout Chart shows the sticker number and the corresponding Suggested Selling Price for your cashier's reference. Based on availability, St. Louis schools with local delivery are eligible for free rental of pre-coded cash registers with their gift order of $1,500 after returns and for cash registers with bar code scanners with orders of $2,500 after returns. HOW MUCH SHOULD WE ORDER?
Our Order Forms have a suggested quantity (SUGG ORDER QTY) based on a school of 500 students. Increase or decrease your quantities based on your school size or your own preferences. If you don't have time to make a selection, give us a call and we will be glad to create an order for you.

CAN WE REORDER WHILE THE SALE IS GOING ON?
If you find you need to reorder an item, call us by 11:00AM CST and your order will ship the same day via UPS Ground and bill you for the freight. (We prepay reorders over $1,500 after returns by regular UPS, and we do not suggest sending reorders Next Day Air due to the expense). Some schools take the child’s name, payment, and their homeroom class and distribute their gifts when they arrive.

WILL ALL ITEMS BE AVAILABLE FOR REORDERS?
While we try to anticipate which items will be the most popular we do have limited stock available and the later it is in the season, the greater the possibility that we may not be able to fill reorders. If an item is out of stock, we will make a reasonable and similar item substitution.

CAN WE PICK UP OUR REORDERS?
We welcome you to come in to view our gift selection on display in a case but we only stock our closeouts and special buy gifts for pickup at our showroom. To pickup gift orders in our store, call in your orders by 11 am the day before and we will have your gift order ready for pick up the next business day during regular business hours. If you need to pick up your order outside of our regular business hours, call us and we will work to accommodate your needs.
  • Store Hours: Monday-Friday 9:30-5:30 and Saturday 9:30-4:00
  • Directions: We are located between Page & Olive off Lindbergh. Turn on Baur and then make an immediate left behind AT&T Wireless. We are the last building on the street. Our address is 1317 Lindbergh Plaza Center, St. Louis, MO 63132.

CAN WE RETURN MERCHANDISE?
To give you the best prices on quality gifts, we allow you to return any gifts that are in their original UNOPENED and UNMARRED packages so long as they are in our minimum pack (MIN PACK) quantity. For example: If you purchase whose MIN PACK is 1 DZ, you may return that item in multiples of 1 DZ, but you may not return less than a dozen. We sell a few items where the MIN PACK is greater than 1, for example, if our MIN PACK is 3 DZ, you may return in multiples of 3 DZ only, you could not return 2 DZ.

Some suggestions for what to do with the few items you may be unable to return:
  • Pack up to use next year in your Holiday Surprise Store
  • Use at your school carnival/picnic (we’ll be glad to help and we’ll offer a bonus for multiple events!)
  • Donation for your school’s Mission Carnival
  • Give to teachers to use as student incentives

IS IT A LOT OF WORK?
Follow the guidelines in our FREE 20 page Chairperson's Handbook to make your Holiday Surprise Store as fun, easy, and profitable as possible! Start early and get people excited to be a part of this school activity. Enlist the help of older students, cheerleaders, parents, grandparents and others to help you with setup and running the store and you'll be rewarded by seeing the excitement of children as they are able to shop for their family members because our your time. We'll help make it easier to setup by packing your order as you will be displaying it, providing price code sticker charts, excel spreadsheets and any advice you may need along the way.

ARE THE GIFTS NICE?
We chose the gifts based on how we would feel if our children brought them home to us (as a matter of fact, some have been brought home to us). If we wouldn't like it, or don't feel it is a good quality, we don't put it in the program. If you are unhappy with any item you select or we select for you, just return it with any other returns you may have. It's that simple.

Call us if you would like us to select your gifts or if you prefer kits. We offer a variety of ways to select your gifts. To order on line, we suggest you print out one of our Order Forms either by Category or Price (depending on how you plan on setting up your store).
